Thank You All

June 28th, 2012 | Posted by Jacob Barak Klensin in Uncategorized

I would like to thank everyone who was a part of this past weekend becoming such a huge and exciting success.  I would like to extend a particular thanks to Coban, and his wife Sandra for not only hosting the show, but for being exceedingly supportive of my work.  I am so incredibly honored to be a part of their effort to bring traditional Muay Thai to New York and to bridge the gap between the new camp here and Camp Lookchaomaesaithong back in Thailand.  For me to be such a visible part of this effort is surreal.  I was told that Coban feels as though I have brought his childhood to New York.  To have my images regarded so highly by such a great champion, and one who so intimately connected to the work presented in them, is easily the proudest moment in my artistic life.  In fact, I am very pleased to say that Sandra and Coban purchased the entire collection, which will now be a permanent fixture in the gym, always connecting its New York members to their far away teammates.  I would also like to thank everyone for coming out, and for taking their time to see the work in such an appropriate environment.  In addition to the generous purchase by the hosts of the show, I received a number of orders throughout the night for additional prints.  Ten percent of these orders has already gone towards the medical care of Mr. Chotison on top of over a thousand dollars raised throughout the night in direct donations from those in attendance.  I will soon be posting details on here for how others can purchase work presented both at the gym, and throughout my website.  I can not express how pleased, proud and honored I am by not only the event, but the place this work has taken me, and the relationships it has allowed me to develop.  While I am busy and of course tired, I am energized and motivated by the previous week and look forward to whatever the next step may be.  I will of course be keeping people updated on what is next for me and “The Figure of Fighting,” so please check back frequently.  Once again, thank you all for your interest and support, not only of me and my work, but of Muay Thai and the members of Camp Lookchaomaesaithong.
