Thailand

In the month of February, 2012, I took The Figure of Fighting international for the first time, with a trip to Thailand.  While there, I pursued a major goal of this project, by showing the root, and home, a major combat sport, and one that has, over the last year in particular, become very important to me.  I traveled to a number of different camps in different parts of the country, trained and photographed just about every day, and left with an understanding of Muay Thai, and a body of work to represent it, that far exceeded my expectations.  The short visit though is admittedly only a start, and I look forward to returning.  The work seen here is a large representation of what I shot while there, but there is even more.  I’m currently working on ways to share this work with as many people as possible, in new and creative ways.  For more about my trip, check out the images below, the blog posts on the front page of this site, as well as my video blog series on Pro MMA Now, and my travel blog series on The Fight Nerd.  I want to thank everyone that helped make this trip possible, everyone that I met and worked with along the way, and everyone who continues to support me in this work.
